Pear and Gorgonzola Salad

Subtle pear flavour, sharp Gorgonzola and crunchy nuts make this a delicious salad.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 oz Butter Lettuce Leaves (large leaves torn into pieces and small leaves left intact)
  • 1 Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • ½ cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • ½ cup Toasted, chopped walnuts
  • BALSAMIC VINAIGRETTE:
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • 6 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp Freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large salad bowl, whisk together the vinegar, garlic and mustard. Slowly add the oil in a thin stream, whisking steadily. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
    Add the lettuce, pears, Gorgonzola and walnuts, and toss gently to coat. Serve immediately.
