Granola

Margaret's specialty. Makes a very large batch

INGREDIENTS:

  • 24 cups quick oats
  • 5 cups unsweetened coconut
  • 4 cups sunflower seeds or mixed sunflower, hazelnuts
  • 2 cups almonds
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1lb. butter

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large stainless steel bowl, mix the oats, coconut, sunflower seeds and almonds.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the brown sugar and the butter.
  3. Drizzle the sugar/butter mixture over the grain/nut mixture, mix in well.
  4. Bake at 325 degrees until crispy an tanned, mixing every half hour. This should take about 3 hours.
