¼ tsp pepper
2 tbsp butter
1 ½ cups scalded milk

COURSE: Vegetables and Sides

CUISINE: British

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Arrange a layer of potatoes in a greased 8 cup casserole dish. Cover with some onions. Sprinkle with some of the combined flour, salt, and pepper. Dot with some butter. Repeat until all are used, ending with butter. Pour milk over everything, and sprinkle with paprika. Bake, covered, for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes longer or until tender. *Don’t over bake this dish as if it burns or browns too much it will taste bitter.
