Swiss Ham Scallop

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- ½ cup sliced green onion
- 2 tsp dill
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 large peeled and finely sliced potatoes
- 3 cups diced cooked ham
- ¼ cup fine dry bread crumbs
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine 3/4 cup of the cheese with the onion and the dill. Set aside.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour, and then add the milk gradually. Add salt to taste (not too much). Cook and stir over medium heat until the sauce thickens, and then cook 1-2 minutes longer. Remove from heat and blend in the sour cream.

Grease a 2 qt casserole.
Layer:
1/3 of the potatoes
½ of the ham
½ of the cheese-onion mixture
½ of the sauce
1/3 of the potatoes
½ of the ham
½ of the cheese-onion mixture
½ of the sauce
last 1/3 of the potatoes.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumbs and the rest of the cheese on top. Bake at 350 °F for 1 hr, covered. Bake 15 minutes more, uncovered, until bubbly and brown and the potatoes are tender.
